Description
Non Slip Plywood
A practical, hardwearing sheet solution where grip and safety underfoot matter most. This 12mm or 18mm non-slip plywood features a resin-impregnated mesh overlay bonded to one face, creating a textured surface that provides reliable traction in wet or oily conditions — without the need for additional anti-slip treatments or coatings.
At 2440 × 1220mm (8×4), these sheets are a versatile size suited to a wide range of applications, from vehicle and trailer flooring to site walkways, access ramps, scaffold platforms, and industrial flooring overlays. The plywood core provides good structural rigidity and can be cut, fixed, and shaped using standard woodworking tools.
The smooth reverse face is suitable for direct fixing to joists, bearers, or vehicle bed frameworks, while the textured mesh face remains exposed as the wearing surface.
Available in 12mm & 18mm
FAQs
What makes this plywood non-slip? One face is bonded with a resin-impregnated fibreglass or polypropylene mesh during manufacture. This creates a raised, textured surface that significantly improves grip underfoot or under load, even in wet or greasy conditions.
Is 12mm thick enough for flooring applications? For light to medium duty applications — such as trailer lining, platform overlays, or pedestrian ramps with adequate joist or bearer support — 12mm is generally suitable. For heavy vehicle loading or wider joist centres, an 18mm sheet would be more appropriate. If you are unsure, consult a structural engineer or contact us for advice.
Can non-slip plywood be used outdoors? Non-slip plywood performs well in exposed conditions but is not a fully waterproof (WBP) marine-grade product. For prolonged outdoor exposure or applications where the sheet may be submerged or subject to standing water, a WBP-bonded marine plywood should be specified. Sealing all cut edges will extend service life in outdoor use.
Which face should face upwards? The mesh-textured face should always be the exposed wearing surface. The smooth face is intended as the underside, fixed against joists, bearers, or the vehicle bed.
Can I cut this sheet with standard tools? Yes — non-slip plywood can be cut using a circular saw, jigsaw, or table saw fitted with a suitable timber blade. Cutting through the mesh face is straightforward; using a fine-tooth blade will give the cleanest edge finish.
